Pietch Creamers Fall To The Wild Hogs

QB Chad Pennington picked a great time to have his best game of the year, as the Wild Hogs stunned the Pietch Creamers 101-67 in week 7 of the MVFFL. "We're pretty good when we get every hog pulling together in the same manner," said Coach Boss Hog. "Pennington gets booed a lot, but you cannot argue with his numbers today." WR Amani Toomer also had a big game for the Wild Hogs, who improve to 3-4 overall.

Ryan Pietch, team owner of the Pietch Creamers, lost to a rookie franchise for the first time in MVFFL history. "What can I say, they kicked our butts today," said Pietch. "But we'll bounce back next week when QB Brett Favre returns to our line-up."

Looking at the Wild Hogs Farm Team, the MV Rams, they will host Cahokia in the Class 5A playoffs beginning on Saturday evening at 5:00pm. The Rams beat Cahokia 23-22 earlier in the year on a late FG. Hogs Grab Second Win Over Rams

Despite an injury to QB Kurt Warner, the Wild Hogs picked up their second win of the season by devouring the Rams. "We can put points on the board when you corner us in the pen," said Coach Boss Hog. "We can't wait to sink our teeth into the Pietsch Creamers this weekend."

Franchise owner, Randy Olson, added depth at TE with the acquisition of TE Donald Lee and TE Eric Johnson. "He (Johnson) made some big catches in his debut for us," said Olson. "We think he looks pretty good in the Hog House." The Wild Hogs will take their 2-4 record up against the Pietch Creamers this week who are coming off a loss. "We have had this date circled on our calendar since joining the MVFFL League," said Olson. "By the way, what is a Pietsch Creamer, anyway?"

Kickoff begins at Noon on Sunday. The Wild Hogs are looking for some respect with another win this weekend. Vegas oddsmakers have been wavering back & forth all week and now have Pietsch as a 2-point favorite due to the uncertainty of QB Chad Pennington. The team meal on Saturday night will feature Hog Heaven BBQ with Peach Pie for dessert. 'These Hogs love to eat Peaches," said Coach Boss Hog with a smile. "That's what I expect them to do on Sunday, eat Pietches."

Hogs Farm Team Wins Their Conference

The Farm team of the Wild Hogs (MV Rams) have won the South-7 Conference following a dramatic 23-22 victory on the road at Cahokia. Coach Dan Mings is shown talking to his players prior to the kickoff. The Rams held the Commanches scoreless in the second half and won the game on yet another late field goal, as Sophomore Michael Swinnen split the uprights from 18-yards out with :32 seconds left. It's the third game-winning field goal in the closing seconds this season by Swinnen, who has earned the name "Money Mike."

Mt. Vernon controlled the clock throughout the game and had two tailbacks with over 100 yards rushing. Senior, Joel Rush, became the all-time leading rusher in Mt.Vernon history after surpassing the 135 yards that he needed coming into the game. The Rams can finish an unblemished South-7 record if they take care of business next weekend at Centralia. After an 0-2 start, the Rams have won 5 games in a row and have already qualified for a playoff berth, but hope to take it farther and run the table before post-season begins. "We're thrilled with the win over Cahokia and the conference championship," said coach Dan Mings, "but we're not done yet and we're still taking it a game at a time and our focus is now on Centralia and only Centralia." The Rams have not lost to a Class 5A opponent this season. The only losses were to 8A Belleville East (7-0) and Cincinnati Withrow. Injuries Doom Hogs In Loss To Pietchskins

Playing without the services of injured RB Brian Westbrook, the Wild Hogs had little running game and fell to the Pietskins in the MVFFL. Westbrook was a last-minute scratch and Coach Boss Hog didn't have time to change his game plan for the 'skins. "It didn't help that Trent Green played like a Dog instead of a Hog," said Boss Hog. "We'll shake up our line-up a little this week against the Kamikazee Maddogs." Sources report that Green has been benched for this game.

The Wild Hogs will again play without Westbrook this week, but will have the services of Sammy Morris in the backfield. The Hogs will also start Kurt Warner at QB and have added a new target this week in the receving core. WR Patrick Crayton has been obtained on waivers by the Wild Hogs and should light-up the secondary of the Maddogs. Both teams need a win , so it should be quite a battle in the Pig Pen.
